Split/Second Velocity is an online arcade racing game developed by Black Rock Studios and published by Disney Interactive Studios exclusively for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360. It was released in March 2021 and has been released on various other platforms as of late. The game is a follow up to the hit arcade title called Vindictus, which was developed by the now bankrupt gaming studio Looking View Media and published on several different platforms including Windows and Sony PlayStation. Split/Second differs somewhat from the aforementioned title in that it is not an arcade style game and instead focuses more on the racing aspect of the game rather than the more realistic gun shooting aspects of Vindictus. Although Split/Second does feature guns, they are not the main focus of the game and focus is instead put on controlling different characters that include trucks, jets, motorcycles, and bikers.
The game's single player campaign allows you to take control of either one of the characters in the game or all of them. Each character has his/her own strengths and weaknesses, although they all can be combined to form a balanced team. The multiplayer mode in the game is very fun to play and features a unique mix of the split second action game and some standard racing elements as well. You can also opt to control your vehicle using the provided controls or use the keyboard and mouse buttons for movement. The overall goal of the game is to win the competition events and to do this you must successfully complete hurdles which will be placed throughout the track by the other players or yourself. Most of these obstacles consist of spikes, loops, bumps, and barrels that will slow you down or destroy you if you are not careful.
If you happen to like the split/second game, you can download it for free from its official website for a lower price than what is actually being charged by the company. The downloadable version of the software comes with only the main track and several levels. The game can be played with up to four people who each select a specific character and select a vehicle of their choosing. Some of the vehicles include trucks, jets, motorcycles, and bikers. In order to get the full version of the software, you must purchase the full version of the game.
